When to go
Weekends and the 8 December holiday are the busiest days. Midweek is quieter and our homes cost less. The light shows start after sunset, so arrive in the afternoon and stay for the evening.
Where to stay
Dolce Vita is in the old town, with the cathedral outside the window: the market is right below. The centre is a limited traffic zone, so the train from Milan is the easiest way in.
